Métamatic Artists Lezingenserie #1: Ranjit Bhatnagar

De missie van het Métamatic Research Initiative is research te stimuleren naar het werk en de filosofie van de Frans-Zwitserse kunstenaar Jean Tinguely (1925-1991). Het onderzoek concentreert zich op Tinguely's verkenningen naar de relatie tussen de kunstenaar, het kunstwerk en de kijker, zoals we dat zo goed kunnen zien aan Tinguely's Métamatic sculptures.

Acht kunstenaars zijn geselecteerd hun individuele project te ontwerpen dat geïnspireerd is op het nalatenschap van Tinguely. In de herfst van 2011 en de lente van 2012 zullen de deelnemende kunstenaars van het Métamatic Research Initiative over hun werk spreken en in het bijzonder over hun Tinguelyproject.
In de eerste aflevering is de Amerikaanse kunstenaar Ranjit Bhatnagar te gast.

Yes, Paul has had the opportunity to see the mdaenss first hand, and to take some clues. He's got the obsessive gene, for sure, though as biological science would have it, it hasn't come from ME. I hope someday that he will branch out from the Lego into other, more completely malleable materials. Also because HIS Lego obsession spills over into MY various other obsessions, and I can't help but want to be building Lego with him when other matters call.
