Patriotism is necessary: first of all for the state in order not to collapse and for any person to live under the protection of the state. I consider that the state programs on patriotic education are certainly necessary.
And Konstantin Ponomarev (Internet journalist)
Patriotism and duty are different things. When the state demands from the person to fulfill this or that duty, it does not ask him, whether he is a patriot. Bringing up patriotism on state level is absurd.
