News from the Front: Asko Chamber Choir - Without a reason

In the program Without a reason, composers are brought together which the Asko Chamber Choir has proven to perform successfully in the past. The way in which the Asko has opened new perspectives for the contemporary choral music is striking in its obstinacy and imagination. What binds them is the musical memory and the lyricism which makes their work accessible - beauty without anything else, without a reason.

For this concert three composers were asked to write new work, namely Ayres, Nieder and Marinissen. There is also the Dutch premiere of a recent choral work of Seither, a composer with a unique language. A highlight from the existing contemporary repertoire, Die Rose by Boogman, will also be performed.

Programma
Richard Ayres (*1965)                    For mixed choir
Arnold Marinissen (*1966)            For mixed choir
Charlotte Seither (*1965)               Passage Innocent (2006)
Willem Boogman (*1955)                Die Rose for sixteen singers (1996)
Fabio Nieder (*1957)                        Thümmels Vergissmein- Lied und Gloria
