I HAVE A DREAM… Educate Yourself! Young Entrepreneurship

Entrepreneurship is an important breeding ground for more innovation and growth in the economy. That is why it is never too early to encourage entrepreneurship and enterprise. The world of education is therefore paying more attention to learning entrepreneurial skills and an entrepreneurial attitude. The Netherlands is not the only country that has realised that future prosperity depends on teaching entrepreneurship at an early age.

Jeroo Billimoria (founder of the Aflatoun foundation) has introduced a new educational model in India, Paraguay, Mali and the Philippines to enable citizens to become economically independent at an early age. Learning to save and to engage in enterprise are related activities. What can we learn from these practical examples in the Netherlands? Jeroo Billimoria will explain her vision in a keynote speech, followed by a discussion with Martin Burt (General Manager Fundación Paraguaya), Violet Diallo (Coordinator GAP/PASECA, Mali), Lilijana Vasic (Serbia)  and Cresente Paez (President National Confederation of Cooperatives, Philippines). I Have a Dream... is a joint initiative of Felix Meritis and MEXIT and consists of a series of workshops during the afternoon followed by public lectures in the evening. The total programme will include a wrap-up session and a compilation of essays. This programme is made possible by the support of Oxfam Novib.
