Humanity in Action: Perspectives & Visions: Diversity & Human Rights
The first international Humanity in Action (HIA) Conference deals with themes and questions on Diversity and Human Rights.
During the program open keynotes will take place and a workshop, that are open for public.
Humanity in Action (HIA) is an international educational organization that engages, inspires, and continuously develops a network of students, young professionals, and established leaders committed to protecting minorities and promoting human rights-in their own communities and around the world. HIA currently works with university students and young professionals in Belgium, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Denmark, France, Germany, the Netherlands, Poland, the United Kingdom, the United States, and Ukraine.

Friday 2 July
9:00-10:30 Keynote address: The Banality of Genocide, Konstanty Gebert (freelance journalist, columnist of Gazeta Wyborcza and writer) and Q & A.
13.30-14.15 First HIA International Award to Ed van Thijn (Chair of HIA Netherlands ) & Peter Edelman, presented by senior fellows of HIA.
19:00-20.00 Changing Identity in Europe by Frans Timmermans (Politician, Dutch Labour Party)
Saturday July 3
18:45- 20.15 The Middle East conflict and it's implications for Europe by Ed van Thijn (Chair of HIA Netherlands) and Herbert Pundik (founding Chair of HIA Denmark). Moderator: Rasmus Grue Christensen (Danish Red Cross Youth).
