How should classical music sound?
Music creates a stir, but also when people talk or write about music. In his book Van hoge naar nieuwe kunst (From high to new art), arts sociologist Hans Abbing offers a sociological view of the experience of various visitors to high art. He proposes ways of reaching a new audience by breaking codes of behaviour for a classical music concert. His view evidently touches sensitive strings.
What must we do? What do young artists think about this? And what do you think about it?
Certo presents an evening on the theme: How should classical music sound? Hans Abbing, Johan Dorrestein and Ties Mellema will share their views on this theme and will discuss them with the audience. And of course there will music performed by the CCM Musicians, the Zapp String Quartet and others.
