Grachtenfestival 2009

The Grachtenfestival is the annual (classical) music festival on special locations in the centre of Amsterdam and on the banks of the river IJ. Every year new locations are added. These locations stand out because of their monumental architecture and cultural and historical value. In this twelfth edition the festival moves to the Plantage neighbourhood in the eastern part of the centre of Amsterdam, with The Hermitage Amsterdam as festival centre. The programme of the Grachtenfestival in the Plantage neighbourhood will be linked to those of the Centre, the IJ-banks and Amsterdam North, allowing the festival to embrace a large part of the city of Amsterdam.

As in earlier years Felix Meritis is one of the festival centres. In Felix Meritis you will be able to buy tickets, visit concerts and have a drink in the festival café.

The Grachtenfestival takes place from 15 to 23 August 2009.
