Felix & Sofie: Everyday metaphors and idealist youngsters
For decades, Charles Forceville (Media and Culture, University of Amsterdam) has been doing research on the role of metaphors. In his publication Multimodal Metaphors, he particularly investigates metaphors in movies and advertisements. What can we learn from these metaphors about our image of reality?
Philosophical educationalist Stijn Sieckelinck departs in his dissertation The best of youth from two excesses from upbringing and education: numbing and radicalisation among young adults. Are both symptoms of our educational culture, that doesn't know how to deal with the ideals of youngsters?
