Felix & Sofie: Bestseller author Precht on philosophy and the brain; and technology in a human being
During the last few years we have come to know better how our brain works. This leads to new answers to century-old questions such as: What is morality? What is thinking? What is consciousness? Richard David Precht has written a clear introduction to philosophy on the basis of the latest developments in science. An interview with Richard David Precht by Hans Kennepohl and Philip Romer.
In cooperation with the Goethe-Institut and Genootschap Nederland Duitsland.
Are people in control of technology? That is something that we would like to be. Philosopher Pieter Lemmens sees little point in thinking about technology in an anthropocentric and instrumentalist way. Darwinists explain the creation of humans in purely biological terms, but in the early stages of evolution there was already a dialogue between humans and the things they made. Following philosopher Bernard Stiegler, Lemmens supposes that a human being is the result not only of bio-evolution, but also of techno-evolution. Under capitalism we did our technological best to make disasters bigger. How can we make capitalism aware of its own disasters? An interview with Pieter Lemmens by Tiers Bakker.
