Felix & Music: ZAPP String Quartet



 

One of the most beautiful concert halls in the Netherlands is situated in Felix Meritis. This monumental Concert Hall has been recently repainted and a new ventilation system has been installed. During the coming season a variety of ensembles will perform in the renovated Concert Hall in the series of concerts Felix & Music.

Felix & Music first welcomes the special series Winners!, organised by the Kersjes Fund and others. The Anton Kersjes Award is one of the major awards in the field of classical music in the Netherlands. Four Amsterdam winners from previous years will give concerts in Felix Meritis. This evening Zapp String Quartet will perform with a.o. tabla player Niti-Ranjan Biswas.

Jeff, merci pour le drink!
In 2009 violist Jeffrey Bruinsma of ZAPP String Quartet presented the cd Area 51 with his group Bruinsma Syndicaat. In Jeff, merci pour le drink! many of these compositions will be played. Zapp will play on this occasion with the outstanding musicians Brice Soniano (bass), Niti-Ranjan Biswas (tabla) and Maarten Ornstein (clarinet).
