Consumer and Biodiversity
In the coming years the world will have to deal with a great challenge: The world's population will grow from 6 to 9 billion people, who will eat more and more luxuriously. How can we supply the growing demand for food for the world's population? And how, consequently, can we meet the growing demand for commodities for the industry?
The Taskforce Biodiversity and Natural Resources recognizes one of the solutions in changing consumer habits. But what role do consumers themselves play? And how can the different players on the market create a more sustainable market?
This debate will start with facts and figures presented by a market researcher from GFK. There will also be interviews and discussions with: Nico Roozen (director Solidaridad, Taskforce member), Marc Jansen (director Consumers Issues and Quality, CBL) and Henriëtte Prast (WWR). Moderator: Ruben Maes.
This is the second debate in the series Choose or Lose. The next debate is on Tuesday 16 November.
Organized by: Taskforce Biodiversiteit en Hulpbronnen, Trouw and Felix Meritis.
