Café Mediterranée VI: Contemporary Art from Iran
On Friday November 28, Café Mediterranée will focus on contemporary art in Iran. This month's guest will be Sadegh Tirafkan from Teheran. Tirafkan is a photographer and conceptual visual artist and has exhibited in New York, Toronto, Zagreb, Londen, Paris, Brussels, San Sebastian, Houston, Beirut, Dubai and Moscow.
The question and answer session will be moderated by Chris Keulemans. They will discuss the state of the contemporary arts in Iran and the Middle-East, in global perspectives. Tirafkan meanwhile will show some of his work on video.
Sadegh Tirafkan was born in the Holy City of Kerbala, Iraq, to Iranian parents. He graduated in 1990 at the Teheran Arts Academy. Currently he lives in Teheran and Toronto.
In the Café Mediterranée series, international professionals from the cultural field in the Middle East, North Africa meet to analyze and discuss cultural topics in the Arab and Islam world.
