Café Europe “Pays-Bas: douze points!” – The pensions in Europe
This autumn, during the French presidency of the Council of the European Union, four meetings have been organized in the Café Europe series under the title Pays-Bas: douze points!. All debates will be commented on by the Dutch cultural historian Thomas von der Dunk.
The storm of the financial crisis has risen above Europe too and involved the pension funds in its course. In this fourth episode, the Vereniging Democratisch Europa, which celebrates its tenth anniversary, focuses on the introduction of the Euro. At the time the argument was often repeated that Dutch pensions would be endangered by the introduction of the Euro. Is this the case, or does the European Union protect us?
