Brave new world
What are the challenges to the Netherlands in the years ahead? What are the real and important issues of this time? Are there any ideals left to fight for? And do the state and politics still play a role in all of these questions?
Thinktank Prospect presents its first publication of essays Brave new world (Dappere nieuwe wereld). In this book young thinkers express their opinions about the future of the Netherlands - on current problems and possible solutions. During the presentation in Felix Meritis some of the thinkers will ‘defend' themselves against the ‘old politicians': Marco Pastors, Ronald Plasterk and Nelly Frijda.
Brave new world is a book full of eye-openers, surprising ideas and voices of young thinkers who claim more and more their place in the public debate. They represent a new generation with no fear of a future society full of diversity, international dependence and possibilities beyond imagination.
The 21 young thinkers are: Jamila Aanzi, Kirsten van den Hul, Farid Tabarki, Caspar van den Berg, Rindert de Groot, Marike Stellinga, Thierry Baudet, Joop Hazenberg, Koert Debeuf, Casper Thomas, Willemijn Verkoren, Henk van Houtum, Bas Eickhout, Jasper Blom, Rens van Tilburg, Matthijs Leendertse, Natasja van den Berg, Ruben van Zwieten, Joey Hullegie, Martin Pikaart and Haroon Sheikh.
